Cody Thompson kicked off the latest week of racing on Monday night at Rolling Plains Motor Speedway (Hays, Kansas) with the opening round of the inaugural 1st Class Chassis Stock Car Shootout. After advancing from the fourth-starting position to a runner-up finish in his heat race, Thompson started fourth on the grid for feature. He would race his way to a third-place finish behind Blaine Walt and Brett Berry.
On Tuesday evening Thompson was back in action at Rolling Plains Motor Speedway, where he notched a fourth-place finish In the feature behind Kamren Gruber, Blaine Walt and Adam Weber.
Thursday evening took the team to Hancock County Speedway (Britt, Iowa) for the IMT Transport Night of 1,000 Stars. A talented field of 28 IMCA Northern SportMod competitors registered for battling and after passing four cars to finish second in his heat race, Cody started fifth in the feature. Rocketing to the front of the pack in the main event, Thompson picked up his 27th victory of the year with Brian Osantowski, Jared Boumeester, Alec Fett and Colby Fett rounding out the Top 5.
Friday night’s Night of 10,000 Stars at Hancock County Speedway fell victim to Mother Nature, so the team headed to Murray County Speedway (Slayton, Minnesota). Sixteen IMCA Northern SportMods were on hand for the event. From the 10th-starting spot in the feature, Thompson steamrolled to his 28th victory of the season with Jim Horejsi, Dan Paplow, Matthew Looft and Cory Hoogland completing the Top-5 finishers.
