Cody Thompson traveled to Nebraska’s U.S. 30 Speedway on Thursday night for an IMCA Modified event. Fourteen drivers entered the program, and the outing started on a positive note with a sixth-to-second run in his heat race. Thompson started eighth in the feature, but would be an early retiree with mechanical issue.
On Friday night the team’s racing action shifted to Murray County Speedway (Slayton, Minn.), where 14 entries were once again on hand. Cody raced to a fourth-place finish in his heat race to earn the sixth-starting spot for the feature. Unfortunately, rain would arrive before the feature could be run, forcing the finale to be postponed.
After being idle on Saturday night, Thompson returned to the driver’s seat on Sunday night at South Dakota’s New Raceway Park. With 15 entries on hand, Cody finished second in his heat race to earn the seventh-starting spot for the feature. In the finale, he went on to advance to a runner-up finish in the feature behind Chris Mills.
