Cody Thompson began another busy week of racing on Monday night at Iowa’s Clay County Fair Speedway. With 20 IMCA Modifieds on hand for the Memorial, Cody earned the third-starting spot for the feature after a third-place run in his heat race. In the main event he advanced to a runner-up finish behind Chris Abelson.
Tuesday evening found the team at Jackson Motorplex (Jackson, Minn.), but bad luck in the feature ended Cody’s night early with a 16th-place finish
On Thursday night, Cody returned to his winning ways at Nebraska’s U.S. 30 Speedway. Making a clean sweep of the night’s action, Thompson won his heat race from the pole and then wired the feature from the pole to pick up his seventh win of 2021. He was followed across the finish line by Jared Hoefelman, Anthony Roth, Dylan Sillman, and Shane Hiatt.
Thompson kept the winning train rolling on Friday night by topping the Modified action at Murray County Speedway. He started the night by winning his heat race from seventh. The Iowa driver then proceeded to charge from the fourth-starting spot in the feature to his second-straight win and eighth overall triumph of the season.
