Hatlestad, Probst, Thompson and Devries Open Jackson Motorplex IMCA Nationals With Wins

Inside Line Promotions – JACKSON, Minn. (Sept. 28, 2018) – Clint Hatlestad, Cory Probst, Cody Thompson and Jay Devries were victorious on Friday night during the opening round of the IMCA Nationals at Jackson Motorplex.

Hatlestad won the IMCA a mods main event after starting on the pole with Brandon Beckendorf finishing second. Jason Fisher was third, Mark Noble placed fourth and Oliver Kollofski rallied from 13th to fifth.

Tyler Limoges, Beckendorf and Jay Noteboom each won a heat race and Cris Zuhlsdors captured the B Main.

Probst advanced from the second row to garner the IMCA hobby stocks victory. Matt Hanson was the runner up with eighth-starting Greg Sidles rounding out the podium. Colton Burke ended fourth and Corey Schreiber scored a fifth-place result.

Probst, Drew Barglof and Hanson were the heat race winners and Corey Gronewold picked up the B Main win.

Thompson held off sixth-starting Jared Boumeester to claim the IMCA sport mods triumph. Troy Gochanour was third with Dan Paplow fourth and 13th-starting Jake Sachau rallied for a fifth-place showing.

Matthew Looft, Troy Nordquist and Zach Davis each won a heat race and Jordan Meine drove to the B Main victory.

Devries earned the IMCA sport compacts triumph with Jarad Gross, Jake Smith, 12th-starting Neil Forsburg and 11th-starting Bubba Brown rounding out the top five, respectively.

Brown, Devries and Megan Sandvig captured heat race wins.

The IMCA Nationals concludes on Saturday as IMCA sport compacts, IMCA hobby stocks, IMCA sport mods, IMCA a mods and the Late Model Street Stock Touring Series will compete during the final race of the season at Jackson Motorplex.

If 24 cars sign in for Saturday’s event the payout increases in a given class. The IMCA a mods feature winner will receive $1,000. However, if two dozen or more drivers compete that will double the winner’s share. The IMCA sport mods A Main is $800 to win or $1,200 to win with at least a 24-car field. The IMCA hobby stocks feature is $700 to win or $1,000 to win with the bigger field. The IMCA sport compacts main event pays $300 to win or $500 to win with 24 cars.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students ages 13-years-old to 18-years-old. Children ages 12-years-old and younger get in free.

The pits open at 3 p.m. with the grandstands opening at 5 p.m. each night. Hot laps are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
