Thompson Tackles Opening Night of Working Man Nationals
Cody Thompson hit the ground running on Thursday evening at the 2022 edition of the Working Man Nationals. He started the night with a heat race win, and then capped it with a $2,500 triumph.
With 50 IMCA Modified entries on hand, Cody earned the second-starting spot for the feature via a heat race win. In the main event he charged to his second win of the year with Cody Laney, Grey Ferrando, Kollin Hibdon, and Troy Morris III rounding out the Top-5 finishers.
Action continued with the second round of the weekend on Friday night. Cody started third in the feature and raced to a runner-up finish behind Kollin Hibdon with Dominic Ursetta, Cody Laney, and Jason Ingalls rounding out the Top-5 finishers.
The three-day swing drew to a close on Saturday night with a $2,500 finale on Saturday night. Cody qualified for the feature via a runner-up finish in the B-Main. Starting 21st on the grid, Thompson marched forward 18 positions to finish third behind Dominic Ursetta and Cody Laney with Braxton Yeager and Eddie Belec completing the Top-5 finishers.
