Thompson Tops Park Jefferson & Clay County

Cody Thompson bagged back-to-back wins on Saturday and Monday with IMCA Modified victories at Park Jefferson (S.D.) International Speedway and Clay County Fair Speedway (Spencer, Iowa).

Thompson's winning ways resumed on Saturday night at Park Jefferson International Speedway, where he rallied from ninth-to-second in his heat race and then charged from fifth to take the 18-lap JZ Diesel IMCA Modified victory.

He was followed across the finish line by Shane DeMey, Bob Moore, Jim Thies, and Ricky Stephan.

On Monday night the action shifted to the Hawkeye State with an IMCA Modified program at Clay County Fair Speedway. With 19 competitors registered for action, Cody passed five cars in his heat race to finish third, which earned him the second-starting spot for the feature.

For the second-straight event Thompson raced to the triumph with Tim Ward, Josh Rogotzke, Kelly Shryock, and Kyle Brown completing the Top-5 finishers.

He now holds eight wins on the season.
