Pair of top-10 results at the Tradition for Thompson
Cody Thompson traveled to Corning, Iowa, over the weekend to compete in the 27th annual NAPA Auto Parts Tradition at Adams County Speedway. He turned in two solid results in his U.S. Army No. 25c Modified.
For the Friday opener, 20 Modified teams descended on the half-mile track for a $1,500-to-win program. Thompson grabbed the win in his heat race, and after the redraw, started fourth in the feature. He climbed two positions and finished as runner-up, taking the checkered flag just 0.445 seconds behind Jeff James. Jesse Dennis, Jeff Wiggins and Colton Garside rounded out the podium.
The next night, 19 Modifieds were at Adams County for another complete show. Thompson raced to third in his heat race and drew the 11th starting spot in the $1,700-to-win main event. He picked up six spots in the race and came home sixth.
